Who you'll work with

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Strategy:Define comprehensive test plans and testing strategies for data, software solutions, and application integrations.
Identify testing requirements and key success criteria based on project specifications, user stories, and functional requirements.
Collaborate with product managers, developers, and business analysts to align testing efforts with project timelines and expectations.
End-to-End Testing:Manage and execute end-to-end testing for data and software solutions, ensuring all components of the system function together as expected.
Develop, maintain, and execute test cases for functional, regression, integration, performance, and data validation testing.
Ensure that both the data flow and software integrations meet the intended design, functionality, and performance standards.
Technical Testing and Validation:Perform technical testing of complex data systems, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across various data sources and reporting systems.
Validate data transformations, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and integration points to ensure seamless operation and reporting.
Execute SQL queries for data validation, data analysis, and troubleshooting, ensuring data quality is maintained at all stages.
Perform API testing and validate interactions between different applications and systems, ensuring reliable data exchange and system integration.
Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with development teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to review and clarify requirements and testing expectations.
Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies to provide updates and raise issues that may affect quality.
Provide timely feedback on test results and work with stakeholders to resolve any defects or issues identified during testing.
Defect Management and Reporting:Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring that they are addressed in a timely manner by the development team.
Provide clear, detailed, and actionable feedback on issues discovered during testing, with reproducible steps and expected results.
Generate and maintain test result reports and metrics, providing visibility into testing progress, coverage, and quality.
Automation and Tooling:Develop and implement automated test scripts for data validation, software functionality, and integration tests using appropriate testing frameworks and tools.
Collaborate with the development team to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, improving the speed and efficiency of testing processes.
Continuously improve testing processes, automation coverage, and test efficiency.
Continuous Improvement and Best Practices:Identify areas for process improvement in testing practices, tooling, and methodologies.
Stay up to date on emerging testing tools, techniques, and trends, and advocate for their adoption when appropriate.
Contribute to the development and enforcement of testing standards and best practices within the team.
Use of Testing Frameworks:Leverage Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles and frameworks to ensure that tests are integrated early in the development cycle.
Apply testing frameworks to automate repetitive testing tasks and ensure faster, more reliable software releases.

What you'll do

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in quality engineering with a focus on testing data solutions, software applications, and integrations.
Strong experience with manual and automated testing, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
Solid knowledge of data testing concepts, including data validation, data transformation testing, ETL processes, and reporting systems.
Proficiency in SQL for querying databases, validating data integrity, and troubleshooting data issues.
Experience with testing software integrations such as APIs, web services, and third-party application connections.
Experience with programming/scripting for automation testing (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Selenium, Postman).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
Ability to define and execute test scenarios for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to think critically about data flows and system behavior across various platforms.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with data warehousing, BI tools, and data reporting solutions (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS) and their integration with enterprise applications.
Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and integrating testing into automated build and release pipelines.
Certifications in quality engineering or related fields (e.g., ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester).
Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and experience using related frameworks for automated testing.
